Access Bank, Innoson Motors, others partner with Stanel on youths development

Access More With Stanel Master Class tagged ‘Become More’ held in Awka, the Anambra State capital on Wednesday was a huge success and attended by over ten thousand participants from across the country.
In his remarks, Stanel Group Chairman, Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu who was overwhelmed by the overcrowded participants, said that he brought up the programme in partnership with the Access Bank and Anambra State government as well as his personal efforts in bringing all the business leaders in various industries together so as to impact the lives of Nigerian teaming youths for a better future.
Declaring the record-breaking event open, Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano, enjoyed the youths to shun drugs, cultism and other social vices saying instead, they should embrace productive ventures like his good friend, Stanley Uzochukwu. The governor also revealed that Anambra State government has allocated another land for Stanel within the state where he was currently building agricultural plant to rear cows for full scale production of milk and beef for both local and export consumption.
More inspiring was a brief personal biography shared by the CEO of Innoson Motors, Mr Innocent Chukwuma on how he started as a less privileged illiterate but now has more than seven honorary degrees from different universities, a Chancellor of a university as well as a well-known personality all over the country today.
He thanked the convener of the ‘Access More With Stanel Master Class’ and Chairman of Stanel Group, Dr Stanley Uzochukwu for giving him the opportunity to reach out to Nigerian teaming youths in their early age so that they could start early.
According to him (Innoson), “My friend and Stanel Boss, Stanly Uzochukwu came to my house for this invitation to be here today but I told him I won’t come. Why I told him I won’t come is that, he came to my house in convoy of about seven exotic cars but none of the cars was Innoson Car. I then said it to his face that if he didn’t buy my car, I won’t come and he called his finance manager to come to my house immediately and right there they made payment for six Innoson motors including G-Wagon and Hilux. That’s why I tried as much as possible to be here today despite my tight schedules”.
The guest speaker, Prof Pat Utomi stressed on Nigerian government to provide enabling environment for entrepreneurship development in the country. According to him, “government is the biggest risk of business ventures in Nigeria”, while citing lack of capital project continuation by successive governments as factor.
Another speaker, Prof Lilian Orogbu while doing justice to the theme of the event, ‘Become More’ also charged the audience on mentorship saying, “Don’t learn from experience but learn from the experienced”.
Other guest speakers include HRH Igwe Alfred Achebe, Managing Director of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe (ably represented), Chairman of OilServ, Chief Emeka Okwuosa, Chairperson of Brittania-U Nigeria Limited (BUNL) and Brittania-U Ghana Limited (BUGL), Barr. Catherine Uju Ifejika.
The event was attended by politicians, business leaders, government functionaries, vendors, artists and Access Bank representatives.

Security strategies put in place by the Lagos State Government has yielded fruits with the reduction in the spate of crime in the State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu disclosed on Tuesday.
Sanwo-Olu said some of the security challenges inherited by his administration at inception had been largely contained, but said his Government was not resting on its oars to keep the State safe for business and living.
The Governor made the disclosure after the State’s final Security Council meeting in the year. After the meeting held behind closed doors in Alausa, Sanwo-Olu led members of the Council to brief the State House reporters about security actions to be taken by the Government in the coming New Year.
Sanwo-Olu said incessant kidnapping was part of the security challenges facing the State when he took over the leadership in May 2019. He noted that strategies deployed by the Government to confront the scourge had significantly brought down kidnapping and led to positive reviews of the crime in the final quarter of the outgoing year.
He said: “Today is our last Security Council meeting in the year and there have been positive reviews we have achieved based on the results from the measures we put in place to contain security challenges we inherited. There are lots of new security strategies we are embarking on next year.
“As the Chief Security Officer of the State, I can confirm that activities of Security Council has made Lagos safer than it was when we took over. We will continue to make the State secure for all law-abiding residents and visitors.”
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, corroborated the Governor’s submission as he reviewed security operations in the outgoing year. He said security operatives had weakened the capacity of kidnappers in the State, adding that the Council remained vigilant to consolidate on the progress achieved.
He said: “The kidnapping issue has gone down drastically; those coming to Lagos for businesses should know that they are safe. But, we remain vigilant. We believe it is still the collective effort of everyone to ensure kidnapping becomes a thing of the past in Lagos.”
Odumosu also disclosed that implementation of the State Government’s amnesty offered repentant secret cultists would start in the New Year, noting that the amnesty would be complemented with an integration programme for the pardoned cultists.
Besides, Odumosu said the Council would be initiating new policy to curtail the activities of commercial motorcycles, known as Okada, on the highways. This plan, the Lagos Police Boss said, will be rolled out within the first four weeks in 2020.
“We are introducing a policy to contain the menace of Okada riders and tricycles, and this policy will be fully implemented. We will be unveiling the plan in a few weeks and it will be sustainable. The plan will not be without a human-face, but we expect all the commercial motorcycle operators to comply with the policy,” Odumosu said.
There will be more punitive actions to be taken against those engaging in one-way driving, the Commissioner of Police warned, adding that driving against the traffic is now being considered as a major security issue in Lagos.
The Police Commissioner said: “While we roll out more security plans to keep everyone safe, we urge members of the public to be security conscious. We have reviewed the progress and setbacks we recorded in the outgoing year, but we will be deploying more strategies next year to ensure improved performance in our security operations across the State.”

Customers Groan Under FCMB's Poor Service Delivery

Numerous customers of the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) who thronged the Sango-Ota branch of the bank in Ogun State  lamented poor service delivery by staffers of the financial institution, yesterday.

The customers who visited the bank to make transactions for the festive period, were disappointed with the inept attitude of the staff who abandoned customers on a long queue without attending to them.

Some of the customers who spoke with THE ENCOUNTER NEWS regretted banking with the financial institution for their poor service delivery and customer care service.

One of them, Mr. Semiu Babatunde, described the experience as horrible and unpalatable.

Semiu noted that while the banking hall was  crowded with hundreds of customers, just two cashiers were at the counter to attend to them, making an ordinary banking transaction that ought to have ended in minutes, to drag into hours of waiting.

He said:"We don't even know if this is a bank or market place because of the multitude crowd that usually besiege this place. On daily basis we are forced to go through this horrible experience.

"Imagine, I was here since 8:30am just to make a withdrawal of N50,000, but to my shocking surprise, I didn't left the banking hall until 12:45pm. As a civil servant I had to pleaded with my boss in office to escape query.

"There are many customers coming to the bank everyday, but there are shortage of staff to attend to customers and when they are under pressure, they will talk to customers anyhow without any regard.

"This is absurd and palatable. Unfortunately, the manager of the bank seems to be incapable because he doesn't save the situation. He has refused caution his staff despite several complainants."

Meanwhile, the Corporate Affairs Manager of the bank, Mr. Louis Ibe when contacted told our reporter to send complaint to his email address.

But after seven hours of endless wait, he replied "Just entering Lagos, though on leave, I will need some time to reachout to the BM in Sango, and revert with appropriate response. Regards"

2020 : Prophet TB Joshua goes to the mountain to seek God’s face

Foremost and internationally recognized Man of God, Prophet TB Joshua, the founder of Synagogue Church of all nations(SCOAN) has relocated to the mountain in order to seek God’s face and direction for 2020.

This was announced during a live service at his church in Lagos by one of his ministers , Prophet Racine, who read a letter to the congregation that cut across all nations and explaining why TB Joshua was not in service .

The minister who was with Prophet TB Joshua earlier at the mountain stated that he and some other ministers had to return from the mountain for the church service  but the man of God had to stay back because God has not released him and also because of the things he saw ahead of 2020.

He said even though he isn’t in their midst physically, he was there spiritually because there is need for him to seek God’s face towards the coming year.

"The man of God Prophet TB Joshua will not be in our midst physically because he is at the prayer mountain. Take note of the word ‘physically’ – in body he will not be here but he is with us in spirit.

We too were at the mountain. We only returned for the service – but he remained behind. He is concerned about all that is about to happen in the New Year ahead around the world’’

He did a flashback to January 2019 when the Man Of God went to the mountain to pray and seek God’s sake for the year, making it known that all what God showed him came to pass.

‘’ Remember what God showed him in the same mountain at the beginning of this year – what would happen. Now he is back there to know what will happen next year. Let us listen to what God showed him.

This has been played thousands of times on Emmanuel TV. When it was playing at the beginning from January 4th, you were not taking it seriously. Today, you and I will agree that this year is so fearful’’

Afterwards, a video of Prophet TB Joshua on the mountain was played. It was reinstated that the man of God has the whole world in mind and it was due to this reason that he was absent  from the church service.

Aftermath Of Tb Joshua Visit To South Sudan: Kiir, Machar Sues For Peace

Just few weeks after Prophet TB Joshua's prophetic visit to South Sudan, what has never happened has occurred.

The President Salva Kiir and opposition leader Riek Machar on Monday agreed talks on all the outstanding issues to go underway after Christmas and New Year holidays.

The decision by the two principles to press ahead with more talks comes amid growing international pressure as a deadline looms in February for them to form a unity government.

Tut Gatluak, Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs, told reporters after the meeting at the Presidential Palace that the two leaders agreed that face-to-face meetings will continue after Christmas and New Year holidays.

He pointed out that Kiir and Machar discussed “the implementation of the peace agreement and agreed to maintain communication on pending issues.”

“Dr. Machar is expected to travel to Khartoum on Tuesday, but he will come back to Juba after the holiday season,” Tut said.

According to the presidential adviser, the two principles reaffirmed their commitment to ensure that lasting peace is achieved in South Sudan.

“President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Dr. Riek have wished the people of South Sudan a happy holiday. We want to assure the public that next year will be a year of peace and tranquillity,” he said.

Last week, Kiir and Machar ended days of meetings without breaking a deadlock over the number of states and their boundaries.

Both sides however expressed hope that South Africa’s Deputy President David Mabuza, who mediates the talks on the number of states and their boundaries, could play a big role in bridging the divergent viewpoints of the rival parties in January.

It would be recalled that The President of Sudan had earlier invited Prophet TB Joshua for prayers for peace in the nation on November 12, which he honoured.

Temitope Balogun Joshua also known as T. B. Joshua is a Nigerian pastor, televangelist, and philanthropist. He founded The Synagogue, Church of All Nations, and owns the Christian television network Emmanuel TV.

It should also be noted that TB Joshua gained prominence in South Sudan for his alleged prophecy of a failed coup attempt against President Salva Kiir before the conflict erupted in 2013. And since his visits to South Sudan since November 2019, chains of positive reactions have been an occurrence in the country .
