Ojuolape, wife of multi-talented music producer and writer, Cobhams Asuquo share her experience through an interview on youtube on how she has journeyed so far since learning about the visual challenges of her son, and how it has brought her closer to God.
Speaking in the video interview, Ojuolape narrated how four months after giving birth, she discovered her son is blind. According to her, this happened during a normal hospital visit for check-ups and was told her son “is not following”. This left her scared and confused as her doctor outside the country told her something different.
This information led to a series of tests both in and outside the country where it was confirmed that indeed her son cannot see.
No mother wants to live through this and it is quite understandable, as the experience made her doubt her spiritual strength, “it feels like you are not getting answers”. The doctors could not place what exactly is wrong as the physiology of her son is perfect. Hence, she could not find solutions as the problem was not clear.
At the point where she was not getting any answers, she totally lost it. She was in fear and started questioning herself, she felt she probably did not pray enough or was negligent.
However, she believes she is now going through a journey and she is making progress which is why she can share openly share her story .
