
On Friday 2020 at about 0800hrs, acting on information, operatives from Ojo Police Station arrested one Chukwajekwu Eziigbo ‘m’ 15yrs of Ilufe area Ojo for stealing female under wears from clothesline.
The suspect confessed that for one year now, he has been stealing female under wears from different houses in Ojo and environs. That he usually hand over those stolen under wears to the following female suspects for a payment: Chidima Obietuake ‘f’ 17years old, Chikwaka Chidima Jemfe ‘ f’ 17years old, Gold Enyinnaya ‘f’ 23years old and Akomas Amarachi ‘f’ 26years old, all of Ilufe area, Ojo. The suspects have been arrested and they confessed to the commission of the crime. Detectives recovered some stolen female under wears from the suspects. Investigation is ongoing, the suspects will be charged to Court.
2. Police prevented a 21 years old student of UNN from committing suicide
On 7/1/2020, at about 0829hrs, an officer of Lagos State Neighbourhood Security Corps, alerted Ejigbo Police Station that a young man named Obasi Augustine Chuckuemeka, 21 years old of No 4, Alaba Street, Ejigbo Last bus stop , a student of UNN, Enugu campus tied a rope in a loop around their living room ceiling fan in preparation for committing suicide because he was scolded by his parents. Swift response by operatives from Ejigbo Police Station prevented him from killing himself. He was rescued and taken to hospital for medical examination. Investigation is ongoing.
3. Police arrested a Car Wash Operator for killing his neighbour over locking of house gate
On 11/01/2020 at about 0720 hrs, one Faith Elebo ‘f’ of No 32 Ola street reported at Itire Police station that at about 0130hrs, one Sheriff Balogun 35 years old, who lives in the same compound with them had a fight with her father Peter Elebo about when to close their compound gate. Sherif Balogun pushed down Peter Elebo who started vomiting blood and died on the spot. Homicide detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer Itire, SP Barkfur Kromkyes visited the scene. Corpse of the deceased person was evacuated to mortuary for autopsy. The suspect was arrested and transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba for discreet investigation and prosecution.
4. A Mentally Derailed Man set Man ablaze in Surulere.
On 09/01/2020 at about 0708hrs one adeola kadara ‘f’ of No 13 Aiyeleto Street Surulere reported at Surulere Police Station that she received an information that on 08/01/2020 her brother one Bolatito Farook Kadara ‘m’ was set ablaze at Hogan Bassey Street Surulere and was taken to Lagos Island General hospital. Police detectives visited the scene and proceeded to island hospital where the victim was seen recuperating. He made a statement to the police and narrated how one Badejo Adewale ‘m’ who is mentally deranged poured petrol on him and ignited it. investigation was extended to psychiatric hospital Yaba where the suspect is admitted. Efforts made to interview him proved abortive as he could not utter a word. Investigation is on going.
5. Police evacuated a 22years old mentally deranged girl to Psychiatric hospital for treatment
On 8/1/2020 at about 1430hrs one Apostle Samuel Sonaiki ‘m’ of Celestial church, Cele bus stop, Itowolo Ikorodu road reported at Owode Onirin Police Station that a girl of about 22years old was seen misbehaving along Itowolo ikorodu road. A team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer visited the uncompleted building where the girl was seen. She was taken to Neolife hospital at olakunle street, Thomas bus stop Owode Onirin for medical attention. In her lucid period, she was able to give her name as Chinyere Christopher. She equally gave details of her parents, who were contacted accordingly. She is confirmed to be a psychiatric patient from Akure, Ondo State. She was eventually moved to Akure for continuation of her psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation.
6. Police arrested a notorious traffic robbery suspect and a cult leader on Police wanted list.
On 11/1/2020 at about 2315hrs, detectives from Bariga Police Station arrested one Olowolayemo Sodiq ‘m’ 23years old of No 10 Onenaya Street Bariga. The suspect conspired with one Bamidele Moses aka ‘badoo’ and robbed one Jude Saka of his Bajaj Motorcycle on 8/12/2019. His accomplice was initially arrested by detectives from Bariga and transfered to SARS on 10/12/2019. The suspect has been on Police wanted list for series of traffic robberies and cult violent attacks in Bariga. The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu psc has ordered that the suspect be transferred to SARS for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
