Dino Melaye, Clem Agba, Storm Lagos To Honour Legends Of Nollywood ~ NEWSEXTRA

It was a night of honour, recognition and commendation from those who laid down there lives for the evolution of what is now the third largest entertainment industry in the world.

The city of Lagos stood still as veterans of Nigeria's movie industry were rewarded and appreciated for their immense contribution to the establishment and growth of Nollywood as it is now called.

At a colourful event held on Saturday at the Banquet Hall of the National Theatre, and graced by Notable personalities led by Apostle Anselm Madubuko, Senator Dino Melaye and the honourable Minister of State for Budget and Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, including Nollywood practitioners, politicians, financial institutions, corporate organizations, select members of the less privileged and disabled community who also received certificates of competence, having been trained in various skill sets like Cinematography, Costume, Make-up among others, needed in the movie industry.

The Convener Mr Paul Obazele recalled how the journey of training over 109 less privileged and disabled people and making them economically viable through the support of several stakeholders, was challenging but he was able to scale through.

The Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba  commended the Convener of the Legends of Nollywood Awards Mr. Paul Obazele, for using his influence to empower the physically-challenged in the society.

The minister further reiterated the Federal Government's commitment to supporting Nigeria's entertainment industry adding that structures are currently being put in place to bring that to reality.

Nollywood personalities at the occasion include Zeb Ejiro, Prince Jide Kosoko, Patrick Doyle, Chico Ejiro, Amechi Munagor, Francis Duru, Hilda Dokubo, Segun Arinze, Fidelis Duker and Wife Temitope, Moji Oyetayo(Mama Ajasco), Favour Benson, Roseya Okwoli, Madam Obiageli Molobe, Francis Duru among others.
