COVID-19: Wale Olorode Hails GNI, Others For Donations



Bldr. Wale Olorode, one of the leading chairmanship aspirant in the forth coming local government election in Imeko- Afon, has lauded Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC for donating the sum of N3 hundred thousand to Imeko-Afon local government in the fight against Covid-19.

Ahead of the total lockdown of Ogun state which would be effective from Friday, 3rd of April, GNI has donated the sum of N3 hundred thousand to Imeko-Afon, where the chieftain hails from.

In a statement issued by Olorode, that was made available to newsmen, he described the chieftain’s decision as “a product of a progressive mind that's responsible and compassionate to his people.”

The statement reads: “On behalf of the good people of Imeko-Afon, I commend our leader, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, on his decision to donate a sum of N3 hundred thousand to the people of Imeko-Afon in this trying period.

“This clearly shows how progressive-minded he is. It is also an indication of how compassionate he has grown with the desire and effort to make sure his people do not suffer during the fight of this deadly virus.

“Without doubt, I'm confident that the fund along other donations will go a long way in sustaining the good people of Imeko-Afon. The support of our dear leader is deeply appreciated.

Wale Olorode further commended all individuals, groups and organisations, which may not necessarily be in the public domain for their support towards the fight against the virus. However, he prayed that God will see Nigerians and other nations through this pandemic.

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun has said that the lockdown had been shifted to April 3 to enable the state prepare for the period. The total lockdown of the state would be effective from 11pm, Friday, 3rd of April 2020.

Ogun State has recorded four confirmed cases of Coronavirus.
