Thursday, June 25, 2020.
The Nigerian Guild of Investigative Journalists (NGIJ) has congratulated Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on his 55th birthday.
NGIJ, in a statement by its Congress Chairman, Mr Israel Bolaji, on Thursday extolled the boundless energy and relentless focus the governor brought into leadership.
"The Guild affirms the Governor's uncommon zeal, commitment and courage which has seen him bring his rich wealth of experience garnered for decades to bear in the management and administration of the state, which has translated into various laudable initiatives and programs just after one year in office."
"His leadership style and attitude assures Lagos residents and indeed many Nigerians of a better future as he gradually executes and actualises his agenda for a greater Lagos, bringing significant growth and development to the state, especially across the key sectors.
As the Governor turns 55, we recognise with a great sense of admiration, his role as Incident Commander with his management team, in stemming the ugly tide of Covid-19 in Lagos to assure public health, safety and wellness.
The NGIJ acknowledges how Mr Governor brings competency and effectiveness to the public service and is driving remarkable policies and development agenda.
We view him as an icon and role model for the young people and leaders and urge him to finish strong.
