20th Investiture: Ota Diamond Lions Club to sponsors cataract surgery, eye screening, donates white canes/glasses


The Ota Diamond Lions Club under the District 404B1, International Association of Lions Clubs, has concluded plans to hold its 20th investiture and fund raising for the Club's humanitarian service projects on Sunday, November 8, 2020.

The one-week long programme, according to the 20th President of the Club, Lion Mustapha Olayiwola Ajelara, who is to pioneer the affairs of the  Club for 2020-2021 Lions year, will commenced on Saturday, October 24, 2020 with presentation of awards to many dignitaries (Award Night) at Mokland Hotel and Suites, Ilo-Awela Road, Ota, Ogun State.

Lion Ajelara opined that Sight preservation (eye screening), which is one of the adopted core projects of the largest family in humanitarian services provider, scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2020 at Lape Hall, Mokland Hotel and suites, starting from 9am. Theme: "Preventing avoidable blindness"

Commisioning of Ota Diamond Acquisition Centre follows on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Opposite Shell Gas, Ilogbo Road, Off Ojuore, Ota and investiture on Sunday November 8, 2020 at Maridom Hotel, along Ilo-Awela Road, Ota.

The programme will also features 'Free vision screening, Lions family fitness walk, donation of 500 eye glasses, 100 white canes, 1000 protective glasses and drugs.

Others are sight preservation awareness talk, presentation from visually impaired group and sponsoring cataract surgery.

Expected dignitaries at the laudable events are: Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Ado/Odo-Ota Local Government Transition Committee Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Lawal, District 404B1 Governor, Lynda Oluremi Odunmbaku and many others.
