Akiode community rally support for Soneye over chairmanship bid

  



The aspiration of Hon.Soneye Abolaji in becoming the chairman of Ojodu LCDA received a huge home support yesterday, when his community, Akiode declared their unflinching support for 'their son'.


At a tete-a-tete formal declaration of his intent to his people, community chiefs, religious leaders and youths all unanimously expressed their delight in Soneye. 


Speaking at the event, the Ekerin of Akiode, Alhaji Awofolaju declared that Abolaji Soneye is a son of the soil, who represents the ideals and idea of Akiode community. 


"Abolaji is a pride for us here in Akiode, he represents us and all that's of us. We are solidly behind him as a community and his aspiration is our aspiration. With him, we are sure that our interests will be greatly secured", the chief enthused.


The leader of the Igbo community in Akiode, Chief Ugwulo also emphasised that the gathering is a message to powers that be that Akiode is with Soneye. 


"Bolaji is our candidate, the Igbo community is with him, and we are solidly for him. This is a privilege to pass the message that in Akiode, it is BJ or no other person". The Igbo leader concluded. 


In his address, Soneye Abolaji reiterated that his desire to become chairman of Ojodu LCDA is borne of his passion to see a new Ojodu, and a developed Akiode.


"I'm elated hearing all the goodwill messages of my people, this is huge to me. My desire to become Chairman Ojodu LCDA is because of my passion for even development, betterment of our people and emancipation of our youths and women'.


Other leaders at the meeting includes, Alhaji Muse Yusuf APC political elder and leader, Engr Bankole, Professor White, various artisan groups and religious leaders, CDA representatives and zonal landlords amongst others.
