Ramond FC Boss Urges Sport Ministry To Focus On Grassroot Football Development

"If more attention is giving to Grassroot sport and Football development in the nation, just the way politics is Prioritize in Nigeria, then the future of youngsters aspiring to be footballers and delve into other sports will be secured, fruitful and secured".



These are the words of Oluwaremilekun Adebanjo, the Chief Executive Officer of Ramond Football International Club, who is embittered with the neglect of football and other sports in the country.


Adebanjo in a sober and appealing mood, urged the Ministry of Sport, headed by the Minister of Sport, Sunday Dare to shift attention to the round leather game, and give prospective footballers a brighter future with innovation and development that will boost Grassroot football and other sports in the country.


The fast growing Ramond FC CEO said he is appealing on behalf of the grassroot footballers that as much credence is been given to politics, he wants that same energy and enthusiasm be channeled to football. 


He added that football is a multi-billion dollar investment that unites the world, bringing billions of people around the world together, urging the Sport Ministry to tap into this lucrative business venture, that will give thousands of young grassroot footballers ray of hope for a future in soccer.


He however appealed to the Lagos State Football Association, LSFA, to immediately commence the Lagos State FA Cup tournament, after the Ramadan, so that participating Clubs will have a direction and have the opportunity to plan for other competitions.


The Lagos State FA Cup Championship is a route where Grassroot clubs can have a chance in showcasing their players for Foreign and local markets by participating in the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, organised AITEO FA Cup and also getting to play for Clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL.


Ramond FC is presently playing in the Ikeja Football League under the LSFA, and have been doing brilliantly well.


Ramond FC has made its mark in grassroot football development in Lagos State, especially at Alimosho Local Government where it is situated, moving players outside the shores of Nigeria to Europe and other top club sides around the world.
