ARMY EMPOWERS 32 ADAMAWA RESIDENTS, COMMISSIONS STUDENTS QUARTER GUARD/RSM’S OFFICE IN COMMAND DAY SECONDARY, YOLA

 




The Nigerian Army has successfully trained and graduated 32 residents of Adamawa state in skills and entrepreneur knowledge acquisition. The empowerment training programme carried out at the Centre spans through the duration of 3 months, depending on the area of specialization. Formerly the programme was ran at interval period calendar.

However, the current Brigade Education Officer (BEO), Major Lukman Kayode Badmus been the Coordinator and the Chief host modified it to be run on quarterly basis, which gives an opportunity to graduate 4 sets of trainees in one year. However, Mrs Esther Oladele is the Assistant Coordinator while Sgt Musa Oladipupo is programme organizer.

23 Brigade ESAC has total number of 32 participants whereby 26 are from the Nigerian Air Force, 4 from the Nigerian Army while 2 are from the Correctional Services. Despite the COVID19 Pandemic, the participants commenced the third quarter training on 5th   July – 24th September 2021. It is pertinent to note that the fourth quarter training is scheduled for 4th October 2021 – 21st December 2021. The training will focus on the following departments Computer studies/ICT, Hair Dressing, Tailoring, Knitting, Barbing, Interior Decoration, Bag Making,       Shoe Making and Catering Services. 

Command Day Secondary School (CDSS) Yola is one of the Army post basic schools established in the year 2007 by HQ Nigerian Army Education Corps with the collaboration of      HQ 23 Brigade. CDSS Yola is under the leadership of the BEO Major LK Badmus. 

 Due to the civil-military relationship, the BEO saw the need for the construction of quarter guard and RSM office which will foster the zeal of the students towards military and academic excellence.

On Tuesday 28th September 2021, the Special Guest of Honour, Commander 23 Brigade, Brig Gen MA Garba, the Commander, 103 Strike Group, Air Commodore Joseph Malgwi, Comdr 203 Intelligent Surveillance and Reconnaissance  Air Commodore IH Etukubo and Comdr 153 Base Strike Group NAF, Air Comdr LI Oluwatoyin collectively commissioned the Quarter Guard and the RSM Office respectively. 

The programme was graced by senior military officer and civil directors, NAOWA and NAFOWA Coordinators Adamawa Chapter, top businessmen and entrepreneurs. However, the Director 3 Division  Education Service, Brig Gen EC Echebiwe sent his goodwill massage and vote of thanks which was convened by the coordinator ESAC.
