IRU:ADU PRESENTS PACKED FOODS,TRADERS MONEY ET AL




The Executive Chairman, Iru Victoria Island LCDA,Hon.( Princess) Rasheedat Abiodun Adu empowered traders, disributed packed foods and disbursed cash to residents in fulfilment of electioneering campaign promises on Wednesday,27th April,2022 at Sen. Remi Tinubu Hall Council Secretariat.





























    Hon.Adu is always passionate and empathic   on people's welfare and  Economic  sustainability.She gave  #100,000:00. each to 20 traders for job generation and wealth creation with the belief that the package will have multiplier effects on socio economic activities of Iru-Victoria Island LCDA.

   According to her, the money was meant to increase and add value to their means of survival and not to be used for social parties or merriments. And if the beneficiaries judiciously utilize the Traders'money it will serve as impetus and motivation to do more for others. She stated that a monitoring Committee has been put in place to ensure that the traders' money is used for the purpose it's meant for.

   She magnanimously shared sallah gifts ( packed rice, tomatoes, seasonings,groundnut oil, well package combo cartons) with #5000 cash to residents as dividends of democracy.

      The Council helmsman officially  introduced newly appointed cabinet members- SLG, supervisors and Special Advisers.

      Adu said that  two scholar boats have been provided for the school children at the riverine areas- Takwa bay and others for easy mobility of children. The boats are basically meant  for the school children and for community members and that 6 foot bridges will be constructed too.

    The Council Manager,Mr Olanrewaju Fatai in his opening remarks said the scheme has potency of stimulating the economy.

Since the

commencement of the program Small and Medium- sized Enterprises have been positively affected which in no measure has alleviated poverty and hunger. Its sustenance has contributed to the growth of the local economy. He applauded the Council boss for her people- oriented programs.

Good will messages were given from the audience by both Hausa andnd Igbo residents respectively.they appreciated and prayed for her.

     Hon. Taofeek Afolabi appraised the achievements of the Chairman with respect to her impactful programs. He admonised recipients to optimally utilize the money to be on the same page with the Chairman as she believes in teaching people how to fish than giving them fish.

     The APC Chairman,Alhaji Murideen Kokoroowo advised attendees to ensure that they collect PVCs from INEC offices because it is their Civic rights and power.
