MANAGEMENT REWARDS OUTSTANDING STAFF OF OPHTHALOMOLOGY DEPARTMENT

 

 







The moving train conveying the reward for hardwork finally pulled up at the Ophthalmology Department of the hospital on Thursday 26th, 2022. Dr. Maryam Fashola, Senior Registrar; Mrs. Arike Tiamiyu, Deputy Director of Nursing Services and Mrs. Rukayat Iyanda, a Senior Health Information Officer were the recipients of the awards at the April 2022 edition of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Happy Hour Programme.

The Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo O.  Fabamwo, congratulated the recipients and expressed his delight at their attitude to work, diligence and commitment which is what got them nominated as the best performing staff in the department. He said the ‘Happy Hour’ programme is one of the staff motivation strategies suggested by the Governing Board of LASUTH and is to let staff know that their hard work is being noticed and will be rewarded. 

The Director of Hospital Administration& Human Resources, Mr. Kehinde Gbajumo, encouraged the awardees not to rest on their oars. He said they should be prepared to do more as the reward for hardwork is more work.

The Acting Head of Department, Dr. Rosemary Ngwu attested to the efficiency of the awardees. She thanked the management for coming up the reward system and described it as a catalyst to get the best services from staff. She expressed her satisfaction at the level at which the staff have been performing and urged them to be the best at their jobs.

Director Clinical Services & Training, Prof. Adebowale Adekoya; Director Finance & Accounts, Mrs. Titilope Alaka; Deputy Director and the Head of the Nursing Department, Mrs. Adebola Aina; Consultant Ophthalmologist, Dr. Modupe Idris and Consultant Ophthalmologist, Dr. Balogun amongst others were present at the award presentation.
