KADUNA TEAM IN LAGOS TO UNDERSTUDY LAND USE CHARGE SYSTEM

The Executive Chairman, Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, Dr. Zaid Abubakar has led a delegation on a visit to the Lagos State Ministry of Finance in a bid to understudy the process and procedures of generating revenue through the Land Use Charge system.

Welcoming the team to his office on Wednesday, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Hundogan Sewanu Temitope thanked the delegation for the visit and commended them for their interest and desire to learn from Lagos in order to replicate the same in Kaduna.

The Permanent Secretary, who was represented by the Deputy Director, Administration & Human Resource, Mr. Whenu Senayon Babatunde, assured them, that the Ministry of Finance is ready to offer all necessary assistance and support to the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service.  

Earlier, Dr. Abubakar said the purpose of the visit by his team is to understudy the process and procedures of generating revenue through the Land Use Charge System to become one of the most efficient and innovative revenue generation agencies in Kaduna State,

He said: “It is our desire to learn everything we can from the achievement of Lagos State in terms of revenue generation and how a similar feat can be replicated in Kaduna State through our Agency”.

Thanking the Permanent Secretary and management team of Land Use Charge, Ministry of Finance for the warm welcome despite the short notice, the Chairman stated that Lagos is indeed the Centre of Excellence and first amongst equals in terms of development, infrastructure, and revenue generation which should be recognised and acknowledged by all states in the federation.

He added that the management of Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service will, periodically, exchange ideas with Lagos State on issues relating to revenue generation.
