... residents laud council boss
Residents of Oshodi-Isolo local government on Tuesday trooped out in their numbers to take part in the Oshodi-Isolo local government free health care service in partnership with the Lagos State Health management Agency (LASHMA).
The health care outreach witnessed free medical checks on blood pressure, sugar level, free eye test and glasses among others.
While the highlight was the free registration of residents for the Lagos State Health Scheme (LASHMA) which was massively registered for by the residents.
Beneficiaries could not hide their joy and excitement over the free medical mission in the council.
Speaking at the sensitisation event, the vice chairman of the local government, Hon. Mrs. Modupe Badmus-Aregbe who represented the council chairman Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, said the council went in partnership with the state government in order to ensure the peoples' health are well taken care of.
Badmus-Aregbe urged the residents of the local government to take advantage of the partnership and access free medical services.
She said; "the partnership we have with LASHMA has brought us this free medical outreach. The well-being of Oshodi-Isolo residents is top-priority of the Council Chairman, we shall continue to make health sector and other sectors flexible for the growth of our community. We shall ensure that free health care delivery is brought to the door steps of the people."
Adding; "we will continue to explore all avenues at ensuring that our people get free access to qualitative health service. This is a priority of this government and we shall not relent on our oars."
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Grace, praised the chairman for his ingenuity and love for the people and prayed that God almighty continue His blessings on him and make his administration fruitful and successful.
She said; "I am most delighted to receive the free medical checks and more importantly the free health scheme, I pray God bless the chairman and the Lagos state government for this opportunity to recive good health care service."
Present on the occasion included the council's MOH, Dr Ubani, members of the legislative arm led by deputy leader of the house Hon. Wasiu Mustapha, members of cabinet and other top government functionaries.
