The Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN,Lagos State chapter, Olatutu OLADUNNI, has expressed a congratulatory message to His Eminence .Bishop (Dr)Stephen Victor ADEGBITE , on his appointment as the Executive Secretary of Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission NCPC.
This followed the recent appointment made by the president of the federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and announced through the SA media to the president,Ajuri Ngelale,

His Eminence Bishop Dr Stephen ADEGBITE, by Mr president, is based on the impressive track records of the amazing Bishop in the Christian dome and the significant role he has played over the years on national religion issues.
Olatutu OLADUNNI said His appointment is expected to take immediate effect as it is no doubt the Mr President believes in his capability and competency in terms of service delivery without compromise.
OLADUNNI , A member of ICPD London and the Public Relations officer of Protocol Practitioners in Nigeria said , the significant role Bishop ADEGBITE played alongside his team as a member of National Transition Council , ensuring a smooth and peaceful transition from the administration of the former President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to the current President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR could be described as a credible process.
OLADUNNI said, having seen the enthusiasm he displayed during the transition and inauguration period, it was a great dedication to duty. His coordination amongst citizens of Nigeria especially in the Christian dome is quite laudable .
In her words, "I am not surprised of this appointment for our dear Bishop, first as an Alumni of the greatest UI, University of Ibadan and also graduating from my Faculty, Faculty of Arts, it is a great joy for me. Secondly,
I am also a witness to the role Bishop ADEGBITE played during the inauguration . We were at the Presidential Villa together, and himself alongside some other renowned Clergy were amazing. Their dedication, commitment , focus and zeal for national unity irrespective of ther religion is worth commendable. The way they coordinated the Transition Sunday Service at the National Ecumenical Center was quite amazing as the atmosphere was peaceful and lively which members of Diplomatic Community also witnessed. The Presidential Dinner on Sunday night was another laudable process extending down to handing over day at Eagle's Square... so I commend Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this appointment and I also appeal to our President to continue to encourage the Christian community and search for other credible Clergy like our Bishop and dedicated Christians to fill up other positions meant for the Christian dome or religion related areas."

Below is the profile of the amazing Bishop.
Rt. Rev. Stephen Tunde Victor Adegbite was born on the 17th August, 1968 in Oyo State. He attended Fiditi Grammar School, Fiditi from 1979 –1985 thereafter he proceeded to enrol at the Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan from 1988 – 1991 where he attained a Diploma in Theology and a Diploma in Religious Studies before proceeding to the University of Ibadan in 1992 – 1995 where he attained a Bachelor of Arts (Religious Studies) Hons. He holds a Master of Arts. (Ethics) 1998 and a PhD from the prestigious University of Ibadan Jan 2022.
He attended the CORAT in Kenya Skillful Management for Church Administrators in 2008. Management Course for Presbyters in ASCON in Badagry, Lagos State Nigeria for Four consecutive times in 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2016, respectively.
Course in Huston Texas – USA 2013 and the Strategic Management Course in Huston Texas –USA 2015.
He has received several awards for his accomplishments over the years. He was awarded the Best Student in English Language Immanuel College of Theology in 1991; Best Student in Department of Religious Studies University of Ibadan in 1996 Set; Best Post Graduate Student University of Ibadan in 1998 set; and 70 Awards from various Christian Bodies and Organizations.
Coupled with the above he has held several positions such as the Synod Secretary Trinity Church Council from 1996- 2001; Synod Secretary Lagos Diocese from 2001 – 2009; was the Chairman of City Wide Crusade Lagos Diocese in 2000.
He was the Lay Preachers Coordinator Archdiocese of Lagos from 2001 – 2009; Presbyter Araromi Circuit; Presbyter Wesley Cathedral Olowogbowo Lagos during whose time the new Church was built.
He was a Senior Lecturer at the Methodist Theological Institute Sagamu from 2009 – 2012. He was the Vice–Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria Lagos State (2012 – 2014). He was also a Former Member Board of Governors of Igbobi College Lagos from (2009 – 2013). He was the Secretary Electoral College for the 2016 CAN.
He served as the Proto–Presbyter, Methodist Church of the Trinity, Tinubu, Lagos (2012 – 2015). He was the former Chairman, Christian Council of Nigeria Lagos State. He was also former Treasurer, Christian Association of Nigeria Lagos State.
He is a Member of the Lagos State Pilgrim’s Board, and a Member Board of Governors Immanuel College of Theology Ibadan. Member Inter-Faith Committee Lagos State (NIREC).
He is the Bishop, of the Diocese of Ikeja and the Chairman of CAN Lagos State. He is also the Chairman Christian Council of Nigeria, Southwest and a Member of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC).
He is the current supervising Bishop for Igbobi College, Lagos representing the Methodist Church Nigeria. Bishop Stephen Adegbite has travelled to Jerusalem leading Christians both in Lagos and Nigeria for the past 23years.
He has also travelled to other Countries including Germany, Britain, Greece, Rome, Dubai, Kenya, Ghana, to mentioned just few.
He was married to Mrs Funmilayo Adetifewa Adegbite now of blessed memory and has since remarried to Princess Adewunmi Fadeke Adegbite and the marriages were blessed with four loving children.
