Oladapo Alanis, 26, is said to have committed himself by jumping onto a speeding train at a Manchester, United Kingdom, train station last year. Since then, there has been controversy about his death. This came after her father, Mr. Oladapo Ogundipe, demanded that the Manchester Police reopen their investigation into his daughter's death and made claims that his daughter might have been killed.
This came after her father, Mr. Oladapo Ogundipe, demanded that the Manchester Police reopen their investigation into his daughter's death and made accusations that his daughter might have been killed.
Ogundipe gave reporters an update on Alanis's passing yesterday in Ikeja. He said that Ryan, his late daughter's boyfriend, had inquiries about what exactly happened before her death.
He disclosed that she was expecting to receive £102,000 when she passed away, and that her death was proclaimed within 24 hours after her lover got into her phone without permission and took important data, including her bank statement.
As he spoke to reporters, the grieving father, overtaken with emotion, started crying. It has been a year since her death this month, and in light of the available information, I have come to a disturbing conclusion about what transpired before her death.
After meeting in June 2022, my daughter and her ex-boyfriend Ryan got herpes from him the first week of August. My daughter was so naive that she believed the infection would prevent her from ever meeting anyone. Additionally, he would loan her the money to force her to do everything they wanted to do together. He would inform her it was a loan after initially telling her it was a present.
“When Alanis was expecting to collect £102,000 in May 2023; her new salary of £2,000 was expected on the 28th May 2023, and an additional £100,000 on the 30th May 2023.
Alanis’ passport was requested on May 26, 2023, for her to collect £100,000 I wanted to send to her which was meant for a particular investment in the UK. Both herself and her brother had also been notified on May 19, 2023 that they would be visiting Nigeria shortly.
Ryan, who knew about these, broke into her phone without her consent and stole her bank statements and sensitive information whilst she was asleep at 10am on May 28, 2023 in Manchester, with the intention of blackmailing Alanis and using the stolen information for other purposes.
Then he woke her up, shouted at her violently and kicked her out without her property and the passport she required to collect the money. Ryan admitted to me in writing on June 7,2023 when I reached out to him after Alanis’ death.
Alanis was terribly frightened on the May 28, 2023 and promptly reported the psychological attack to her mother Josephine Dillon.
On May 29, 2023, Ryan continued the psychological assault on Alanis in the presence of Josephine using the information he had stolen from her phone until Alanis agreed to his demands.
Around 9pm, according to the officers who attended the scene, Ryan repeatedly rang Alanis’ phone. That was after Alanis had told him that she was “going to do it” and he had failed to stop her after failing to acknowledge the pain she cried out that she was feeling in her body.
But he lied to the Police in his witness statement on the August 15, 2023 after admitting to me and showing me evidence in writing on June 7, 2023 that he stole Alanis password and had blackmailed Alanis until she died on May 29, 2023.
Continuing, he said: “In the course of getting justice for my late daughter, a coroner’s inquest into the cause of her death came up this month, May 9,2024. And this was the point it became clear to me that it had been a conspiracy all the while.
My family's attorney told the court during the inquiry not to let me give my evidence, but I persisted and was eventually allowed to. The attorney also opposed a question I was going to put to the late daughter's ex-boyfriend, who was also present, to show that he did not have her permission before breaking into her phone.
He was questioned about his refusal to provide the police with accurate information on his use of Alanis' phone. The verdict of the inquest exonerated me.
In August 2022, Ryan allegedly infected Alanis with a virus. From May 28, 2023, when he broke into her phone and stole her bank statements and sensitive information with the intention of blackmailing her, until May 29, 2023, when he continued to blackmail her and until she finally gave in to his demands, Alanis died. For this reason, I have accused Ryan of murder and manslaughter.
This implies a concerted attempt to deceive and hurt Alanis, which finally resulted in her untimely demise. I demand that these issues be thoroughly investigated by the UK authorities in order to guarantee that my daughter receives justice. Since there is no deadline for prosecuting crimes like murder and manslaughter, a private legal team will take up the case if the police decide not to investigate, according to Ogundipe.
