Interswitch Champions Innovation and Financial Inclusion – Named Fintech of the Year, wins Excellence in Payments Award at Africa Fintech Summit 2024

Peter Kawumi, Managing Director, Interswitch East Africa, highlighted these efforts during a panel discussion titled ‘Open Banking, AI and Emerging Technologies in Financial Services Delivery, which held during the summit in Nairobi, Kenya.


Kawumi emphasised the impact of Interswitch's suite of products, including the widely renowned payment card, Verve Card, in enhancing access to financial services and delivering seamless payment solutions to cardholders. He also underscored the company’s focus on expanding financial accessibility across Africa, calling for industry-wide collaboration to address the continent's financial inclusion challenges.

During another panel session titled ‘Focus on Kenya – The Silicon Savannah’s Digital Future’ Jonah Adams, Managing Director, Digital Infrastructure and Managed Services (Interswitch Systegra), shared insights into Interswitch’s contributions to Kenya’s fintech ecosystem. Adams highlighted the company’s role in building Kenya’s digital payment infrastructure and positioning the country as a leading fintech hub.
