COMPTROLLER IHEANACHO HOSTS EMIR OF GWANDU, RETIRED CUSTOMS OFFICER, STAKE HOLDERS AND OTHER SISTER AGENCIES AS THE COMMAND COMMEMORATE INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS DAY CELEBRATION (ICD) 2025

 




1. In the effort of the Command to join global customs communities in celebrating International Customs Day 2025, the Command organize a grand event at the Command premises Birnin Kebbi, on Monday 27 January 2025. The invited dignitaries are retired senior officers, sister agencies, stakeholders, among others.



2. The Customs Area Controller Iheanacho Ernest Ojike, in his lecture presentation on the ICD 2025 theme “Customs delivering on its Commitment to Efficiency, Security And Prosperity”, highlighted the key drives that led to this administration successes since on set. The service commitment to achieving the best output begins with the implementation of policy thrusts of the Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewal e Adeniyi MFR of Consolidation, Innovation, and Collaboration.  



3. He further underlined the engagement of state of the art techniques used in global best practices as the key reforms that led to the successes recorded, such as advance ruling, Data analytics, Authorized Economic Operator.



4. The special guest of honour at ceremony was DCG Aminu Abubakar Dangaladima (Rtd) said in his keynote address that as we celebrate International Customs Day, the NCS knows the commitment and hard work of its officers and men who strive daily to ensure the smooth operation of international trade. The service also acknowledged the invaluable support of our stakeholders, sister agencies, including the trading communities, transporters, and other government agencies.



5. Furthermore, Comptroller Hussaini Suleiman Kangiwa (RTD) Phd stressed the need for effective use of information and Communication Technology (ICT), improved collaboration with the sister agencies and engaging in meaningful research and enforcement of government fiscal policies.


6. To spice up the occasion, souvenirs were distributed to appreciate our visitors as they honoured our invitation and to foster a stronger interagency collaboration.
