A youth-led, non-partisan civic initiative, Polihive, has officially launched its digital platform, polihive.org, designed to equip young Nigerians with the tools to navigate political information, combat misinformation, and participate more actively in the democratic process.
Launched ahead of ongoing electoral activities, Polihive responds to the growing influence of digital media on political opinions, particularly among Gen Z audiences. The platform provides accessible features such as fact-checking tools, civic learning resources, interactive quizzes, and a news verification system, all tailored to help users make informed decisions.
Developed by a team of eight young Nigerians under the leadership of Zainab Afolashade Biojela, the initiative reflects a strong commitment to civic advocacy and responsible political engagement. Polihive is built on the belief that informed citizens are essential to strengthening democracy.
In collaboration with Yiaga Africa, the platform also integrates elements of civic education with interactive experiences, including gamified learning, to encourage continuous engagement among users.
Speaking on the launch, Team Lead Zainab Afolashade Biojela said:
“Awareness is the first step to participation. When young people understand how systems work, they engage and do not complain. They engage, question, and they lead.”
With misinformation increasingly shaping public perception, Polihive aims to serve as a trusted hub where users can verify information before forming opinions or taking action.
