Nollywood Mourns as Actress Temitope Osoba Dies After Battle with Cancer

 



The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of popular Nollywood actress, Temitope Osoba, after a prolonged battle with breast cancer. The actress reportedly passed away on Tuesday evening, with news of her death becoming public on Wednesday through emotional tributes from her colleagues on social media. 


Actor Alesh Ola Sanni was among the first to announce the heartbreaking news, expressing his grief in a heartfelt Instagram post in which he described Osoba as a dear sister and recalled the memorable moments they shared together. Veteran actress Foluke Daramola, who had earlier championed fundraising efforts for Osoba's medical treatment, also mourned her passing, saying she was devastated by the loss. 


Osoba's death comes nearly two years after she publicly disclosed her battle with breast cancer and appealed for financial support to undergo surgery and treatment. Following a successful operation and months of recovery, she made an emotional return to acting in 2025, expressing gratitude to God, colleagues, and fans who stood by her during one of the most difficult periods of her life. 


Her courage in confronting the illness earned her admiration across the entertainment industry, with many describing her as a resilient actress whose determination inspired countless people facing similar health challenges. News of her passing has triggered an outpouring of condolences from fellow actors, filmmakers, and fans, who have flooded social media with tributes celebrating her talent, kindness, and strength. 


Temitope Osoba was a respected Yoruba movie actress and producer whose contributions to Nollywood spanned several years. She will be remembered not only for her performances on screen but also for the courage and dignity she displayed throughout her battle with cancer. Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced by her family.
