OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

*RE: ABUSE OF OFFICE AND UNREST IN KWARA SOUTH APC BY YOUR AIDE-DE-CAMP, COL. NURUDEEN ALOWONLE ADEYEMI - A CALL FOR URGENT INTERVENTION*
Mr. President,
We, the *Arewa Forum for Justice and Women Inclusion*, a coalition of party faithful, women leaders, youth leaders and elders from across the 19 Northern States, write with deep respect for your office but with profound pain over the dangerous political activities of your Aide-de-Camp, Col. Nurudeen Alowonle Adeyemi.
*WHAT AN ADC SHOULD BE, VS WHAT HE IS DOING*
By training, tradition and the Constitution, the Aide-de-Camp to the President is meant to be non-partisan, professional, and completely focused on the protection and efficient coordination of the Commander-in-Chief. His duty is to protect you, to manage your movement, and to be the bridge - not the barrier - between you and Nigerians.
Col. Adeyemi is doing the opposite.
While still serving as your ADC, he is at the same time parading as a traditional ruler (King) in one of the towns in Kwara South, and simultaneously acting as a political godfather in Kwara South, creating unrest and division in the party you built.
*THE KWARA SOUTH SENATORIAL PRIMARY ROBBERY*
Mr. President, Kwara South held its senatorial primary like every other district. The people came out and freely voted for the candidate of their choice, the only woman in the entire race from the whole of Northern Nigeria, *Dr. Muheebah Dankaka*, who polled over *74,000 votes*.
To our shock, her name was removed and replaced with his close friend, Lakan Adewoye, who only joined the APC barely two months before the primary and who scored about *14,000 votes*.
The speculation across the North is painful: That a popular woman must not be allowed to become Senator in his constituency where he wants to be the final authority.
Mr. President, if this injustice is allowed to stand, what is the message to all women in Northern Nigeria?
*HE HAS BECOME BIGGER THAN THE STATE*
Because of this atrocity, Col. Adeyemi is now using his office as ADC to intentionally block everyone from Kwara State from having access to you. He has become a gatekeeper who decides who sees Mr. President and who does not.
Even our own State Governor appears handicapped, afraid of being denied access to Aso Rock if he speaks out against him.
How can a man who is supposed to protect the President be the one creating political crisis for the President in Kwara State and the North?
*OUR PRAYERS*
1. That you call Col. Nurudeen Alowonle Adeyemi to order and direct him to leave politics for politicians and face his primary constitutional duty - protecting you.
2. That you order an independent investigation into the Kwara South APC Senatorial Primary and restore the mandate freely given by the people to Dr. Muheebah Dankaka, the only woman from the entire Northern Nigeria.
3. That you stop the use of the Office of the ADC to the President as a political weapon to block genuine party leaders from accessing their President.
Mr. President, you are a true democrat. Do not allow the ambition of one man to destroy APC in Kwara South and demoralize women across the North.
