Digital solutions provider, Globacom is set to host a royal banquet in honour of the Obi of Onitsha, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe with a heavy touch of glamour, music and rib-cracking comedy in the on-going 2026 Ofala Festival.

The banquet, part of the company's plans to celebrate the respected monarch and the rich cultural heritage of the Onitsha Kingdom, will bring together indigenous music, live-band performances and comedy in an atmosphere of regal elegance and conviviality.

The entertainment lineup features musicians, Ikem Mazeli and Boy o Boy, who will be joined by the Groove Band. Popular comedian MC Ezegetive will provide comic relief, while Ejiamike Obiozo will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

Boy o Boy Onwuatu is expected to delight guests with his repertoire of indigenous sounds that reflect the vibrancy of contemporary Igbo popular music.

Ikem Mazeli will also contribute to the musical attractions of the evening, while the Groove Band will further enrich the experience with live instrumental performances, adding depth and variety to the entertainment.

Globacom’s cultural and sponsorship initiatives underscore its commitment to promoting Nigeria’s cultural heritage by creating platforms where tradition, creativity and contemporary entertainment intersect.

Through its support for the Ofala Festival, the company continues to contribute to the visibility of the cultural institution and the celebration of the values, history and identity of the Onitsha people.

The Ofala Festival remains a major cultural attraction, bringing together traditional institutions, community leaders, indigenes and visitors to celebrate the heritage of the ancient kingdom and honour its monarch.
