How Ibrahim Odumboni Is Repositioning LAWMA For A Cleaner and Safer Lagos
The Lagos State Waste Management Agency (LAWMA) is implementing fresh strategies to promote cleanness and create beautiful ambience as well as make Lagos more habitable for Lagosians.
LAWMA due to its importance towards achieving the six pillars policy document of Governor Sanwo-olu tagged THEMES to build a Greater Lagos in with Developmental Plan of the state needs a dynamic leader that is well grounded with wide exposure in the 21st century waste management world. THEMES stands for traffic/ transportation, health and the environment, education and technology, entertainment and tourism as well as Security and governance.
Its therefore not surprising that Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu appointed Ibrahim Odumboni, a go getter, resourceful, diligent, innovative and the man who understands terrain as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA
Ibrahim Odumboni's appointment can be described as putting the right peg in the right hole; he has displayed high level of understanding in area of waste management and working round the clock with dedicated and committed LAWMA staff for #AgreaterLagos and #CleanerLagos
Odumboni upon assumption of duty briefed the agency staffers on efficient service delivery, excellent customer service and latest trends in their line of duty. No wonders the THEMES agenda of this current administration has become memory verses for LAWMA as the agency plays prominent roles in making it reality.
For instance, having hip of refuse on the major highways/ street roads will affect free flow of vehicular movement across the state and also have negative impact on Lagosians health while proper management of dump site would help Lagos in keep the environment safe and aid climate action.
All these have been the guiding principles of the new MD/CEO of LAWMA. Hence, he is leading team of staff who love their job and see it as opportunity to create safer environment for ALL.
Ibrahim Odumboni has reset LAWMA staff's mentality from the *'less important people doing dirty jobs''* to team of focused and dedicated workers working to create a greater Lagos by delivering their responsibilities professionally.
He is also implementing holistic waste management strategy for emerging megacity. He has improved on recycling of waste to wealth by acquiring modern equipment for staff carryout functions.
Furthermore, Lagos dump sites are being managed with tough of modernity and more organized matter. The disorderliness around the dump site no longer exist due to innovations of Odumboni with support of Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu.
Although, positive development along waste management value chain further confirms the ability of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in spotting good brains and grooming them to bring out the best in them. Ibrahim Odumboni is one the young guys Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubus mentored and are doing great things all over Lagos and Nigeria at large.
