World Science Day: Use Technology To Address Insecurity, Waste Management Challenges, Frequencie Urges FG

 



Ayokanmi Oluwasegun Eyanro popularly known as Frequencie has urged scientists and others to use science and technology to promote development and peace across the world.


Frequencie made this call in a statement issued on Tuesday to mark 2020 World Science Day for Peace and Development.


He said this year's theme: 'Science for and with Society in dealing with the global pandemic' is apt as the whole world are tackling COVID-19, stating that 'Science and Technology should be harness to enhance development and not for destruction or anything harmful to humanity'.


Frequencie, an advocate for actualization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) appealed to researchers to devote their energy towards proffering solutions to critical issues affecting humanity such as climate change, global warming and even the  ravaging COVID-19 pandemic that has claimed millions of lives worldwide. 


The Afro Rockstar who recently dropped new single-2020, advised Nigerian Government and development partners to earmark more funds for scientific research to address issues like waste management, renewal energy, water and health.


Frequencie noted that Science and technology remain the surest route to fast track development in Nigeria and other parts of Africa. ''We can also use science to tackle insecurity challenges in this country, if we effectively deploy technology to enhance our security architecture''.
