Mr. Governor! Open Dowen College now, more than 500 students’ education lives also matter

  

I honestly think there is no need for the ongoing coroner inquest anymore since it is glaring that the Oromoni family who called for it are chickening out with untenable and flimsy excuses. 

It would be recalled that the Lagos state government heralded the coroner inquest in a bid to thoroughly investigate the cause of the death of the 12-year-old pupil of Dowen college, Sylvester Oromoni despite the advice of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) and the investigation carried out by the Lagos Police Command. 

Let me remind you if you skipped the reports from the inquest lastweek- The Two expected witnesses- The deceased’s father, Mr. Sylvester Oromoni Snr. and his sister did not appear and therefore the Family’s Lawyer urged the court to adjourn the inquest indefinitely. Excuse me! What is the rationale behind this if there is no sinister move? The reason was flimsy. 

Same thing happened on Monday 31st of January, the two witnesses did not appear again. Is it not obvious that they are trying to stall the process they requested for?

Then, my question is why is the education lives of other students still being affected by not reopening the school to allow more than 500 other students to resume their academic activities in order to meet up lost days, weeks, and month.

At this juncture, I would like to commend Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu through the Ministry of Education for swinging into action demanding for a thorough probe of the issue.

At the same time, I would URGE the Governor and the Commissioner of Education to reopen this school who had been in existence for the past 25 years with its alumni making this school proud in various fronts according to my investigation.
