It’s very controversial, and so delicate, but the truth is no one on earth has achieved so much success in the art and business of Fuji music like the maestro himself, Olasunkanmi Marshal. It’s really hard trying to make detractors leave the realm of perpetual hatred and envy to cling on to the reality of the truth. KWAM 1 is an enjoyer of God’s grace, benevolence and the omnipotence of God has consistently rewarded his hardworking nature.
Bringing life to Fuji music, simplifying the art and making it attractive to the younger folks, K1 is undoubtedly the creator of the ‘new Fuji vibe’, and this is what the likes of Pasuma, Osupa and their contemporaries enjoyed, saw and ventured into the art too. Maybe you don’t know, KWAM 1 has sang for not less than 4 generations in the last 5 decades, and he still has a grip of the classes of listeners heavily interested in his beats, tunes and rhythms, in Fuji music, who can boast of that? Let’s applaud competence behind envy, please!
In terms of breaking new grounds, K1 has consistently done that, from infusing modern musical instruments to Fuji music, to taking Fuji to global stages, making Fuji attractive to the high and mighty, and even taking it to the power seat of Africa’s most populous nation, and emerging a billionaire from the art, K1 De Ultimate, is unarguably the G.O.A.T!
This is the Fuji music that was so demonised decades ago, but today, even artiste of other genre of music wants to sing Fuji now, thanks to the handsome hubby of Emmanuella Ropo Ayinde-Marshal!
Watching him months ago at the 02 Arena in London, one would see that this man enjoys what he knows how to do best, indeed Ade Ori Okin is unlike that of other birds.
While God is He that waters, hardwork pays, understanding one’s environment also helps and building, and defining intentional relationships also helps one’s image! All these are what K1 humanly did and God blessed for him. Wasiu Ayinde knows his friends in the society and party space, he knows his ‘boys’ and he knows his ‘guys’ and he knows those he adore and cherish their relationship beyond spraying of notes. That’s the intentionality of purposeful relationship that Olori Omooba Akile Ijebu brings to his life and that’s helped his livelihood.
When he emerged as Olori Omooba of Ijebuland, many quipped that why an ‘Alagbe’? But they fail to realise that this is a man of purpose, a man of intentional living, who is enjoying Grace in its abundance! He is a successful musician, a respected political leader, astute businessman and a strategic philanthropist, who has shown that music can be a tool for activism, entertainment and cultural development. Like my friend, Oladapo Adekunle Sofowora wrote, ‘Let KWAM 1 breath’, please!!!
